Great Marble Challenge

Last week in Te Ngahere we did the marble challenge. We had to create a marble ramp using whatever materials we could find in the classroom or from home. We got to choose groups of 2 or 3. The objective was for the marble to stop exactly 110cm and it starts  from the end of your ramp. The main reason we are doing this is because we have a Science fair  coming up soon so we are using this challenge to prepare for that. On the last day we are not allowed to touch our ramps and someone else will. We also had to create specific instructions on how to operate our ramp. Have you done the marble challenge before?

Learning About The Scientific Method:

Latey in Te Ngahere we have been learning about the Scientific Method. The reason why we have been learning about the Scientific Method was because we were going to make a infographic about the Scientific Method. I really enjoyed this because I might use the Scientific Method in the future because I might want to do science in high school. What I think I did well was getting pictures that matched the steps in the Scientific Method. What I could do better is write more to add more detail about the pictures. Do you know what the the Scientific Method is?

Mosaic art

Kia ora in Te Ngahere we have been doing art. The class has been doing mosaic art, we had to get a Google drawing or Google slides and put any picture of anything on it. Then we used the polyline tool on the toolbar at the top to make shapes between each gaps and try create your own picture. We were learning this because we have made videos to put around the school explaining what animals and trees and plants and insects are good in our Ngahere. We made these for qr codes, so then we can just put the video on the picture. What I did was a Nissan skyline gtr r34. What I think that I did well was making the brake lights. What I could do better is making the wheels look better.

Have you made Mosaic art before?

Language Features

Latey in Te Ngahere we have been learning about language features for T Shaped. We have been reading a text and harvesting verbs, concrete nouns and many more. What I know is verbs, concrete nouns and abstract nouns. A verb is a action word such as walking and running anything to do with moving is a verb. A concrete noun has five senses and your five senses are taste, see, hear, feel and smell. A abstract nouns is a noun that can’t be identified by your five senses. I hope you have learnt something new and enjoyed reading this post, blog you later.

Did you know any of these before?

Touch

Kia Ora my name is Jayden and I go to Paihia School and I’m a year 8 in Te Ngahere, we have been doing P.E. rotations with Te Maunga. For P.E rotations we have been doing touch with Mr Ngata, soccer with Whaea Penny and Gina, netball with Whaea Chrissy and Whaea Ronnie, and skill with Whaea Becks. For the rotation, I did touch. Mr Ngata was teaching us how to pass the ball properly, he also taught us a couple of the rules in the end we had a quick game of touch. The fields were pretty small but that was ok.  What I think that I did well was passing the ball to my teammates and following the directions. What I could have done better is talking with my teammates when we played the game.

Have you ever played touch before?
